HOW WE DO IT

We learned from the pros.

The Routard  (an elite tourism advisory group)  travel guide will always give you advice based on their on-site visits.

In other words they visit the place, gather personal impressions and lay them out for you. No one should make a recommendation of some place without having been there first.

We do not advertise, we recommend, we suggest. You, the tourist, will be the one taking the final decision.

So how do we do it ? We walk in, check out the atmosphere, we talk to the staff  (they reflect the reality of the place), ask them questions and listen to their answers.

Our impressions are based on our personal likes and dislikes, so we are aware it is risky to make recommendations, yet this is how all business is done nowadays :  we have the obligation to be fair in order to be trusted. We take our job seriously and we assume the responsibility of our statements .

Let’s start with the elite, in terms of the feel-good place.

LAS VEGAS HILTON & CASINO 3000 Paradise Rd Las Vegas, NV 89109

Its history impressive. One interesting aspect that we found was the fact that Elvis Presley made it his home (meaning he lived there, not just performed !) during his famous 7-year Las Vegas tenure.

On July 2, 2009 Hilton celebrated their  40th anniversary as the International Hilton ; it was designed to be the world’s largest casino hotel at that time. Barbra Streisand opened the 1,568-room property, but it was Elvis who made the International an instant Las Vegas landmark. Elvis debuted at the Hilton International on July 31, 1969, performing 837 consecutive sold-out shows and performing before 2.5 million people. His final show was December 12, 1976.

The Hilton became home also to Tony Bennett, Johnny Mathis, Reba McEntire, the Doobie Brothers, Heart, and Brooks & Dunn. Today, the Las Vegas Hilton looks to a bright future, welcoming conventions, casino players and leisure travelers.

Close by, another unique attraction in town : consider a fun,” remote-conductor” tram ride with the famous Las Vegas Monorail and see the city from atop.  It is an interesting ride, like no other. The Las Vegas Monorail Company celebrated the Monorail's  40 millionth rider on Saturday,  Dec. 19, 2009 marking a milestone for the Las Vegas Strip transportation system.

One other thing that we like about it and include it on our recommendations list is the fact that you have a large area where you can take a leisurely, “around the block”, undisturbed morning walk-and-talk’s  ! Except for the months of July and August, when it gets way too hot during the day to care about the round-the-block walk or jog !

If you choose this hotel as your place to stay in Las Vegas, it will take you only  5-7 minutes to walk to the famous Strip : you will definitely feel like mingling with that noisy, happy-go-lucky crowd, that’s what made the place famous in the first place : the exhilaration of the crowd.  And they keep coming back over and over again, from all over the planet.

And…. we cannot forget this : in case you decide to get married while in Las Vegas….. if you are not here just for that…… Hilton has an inside Bella Chapel but also an outdoors wedding Gazebo -- on the 3rd floor of the hotel – with top-of-the-line ceremonies.

Check out their website  We also visited the place in person and were greeted by chapel’s personnel  with consideration and top professionalism. They pledge to make you feel  important, and ultimately satisfied about having chosen to get married at La Bella Chapel. You are important to them.

We get usually impressed by simplicity in quality, and exuberance in their anticipation of serving  clients.  We get the  feel  of the place before you  : we like that type of atmosphere  where we feel  unintimidated and instantly relaxed : this is what will need to make your unique moments in Las Vegas memorable. Getting married at La Bella Chapel will be one of them.

Avoid the boredom trap  ! Welcome to Las Vegas !

RENAISSSANCE HOTEL -  3400 Paradise Road Las Vegas, NV 89169

This is an off-Strip hotel, yet not too far from the Strip. If you like to walk, you can safely walk to the Strip from there. It is a retreat from its enthusiastic atmosphere that you can enjoy – relentlessly - during the day. But since you need to recoup for the next day, you will want to be at Renaissance Hotel for the night.

We observed and chatted with the staff and I paid attention to the guests’ demeanor as well.  We walked the grounds and liked what we saw, including the pool area ; everything felt good.

Oh, did I mention that they have a genuinely French chef at their ENVY The Steakhouse ?!

For the rest of their amenities, you can decide for yourself by visiting their website.

We want to make sure everyone will have a good experience. Get informed before deciding what's best for you.
